YouTube Content Is Getting Worse Over Time

I remember when I first got my own laptop, back in 2006. One of the first websites I visited was YouTube (after Google Video). At that time, I had an interest in Chinese knock-off goods.

One of the first channels I was a regular viewer of was Ashens. His original POPstation review (PSP rip-off) being the video that made be a regular viewer.

However, Ashens was more of a “sweetener” of what was to come of YouTube. Between 2007 and 2010 would see a golden era for the site (in my opinion). A period with many new interesting creators, including;

JeepersMedia (Used to be extremely popular on early YouTube for videos of innocent toys that appear inappropriate. The first video of JeepersMedia I watched was his review of a couple of knock-off Ipod’s).

TweeterMan287 (Old school tech-reviewer. Used to be very popular on early YouTube)

Classic Game Room (originally hosted on dot-com start-up FromUSAlive as “Game Room” from 1999 to 2008. The show re-launched on YouTube as “Classic Game Room”, becoming one of the most popular channels for retro video game reviews. Slowly “burned and crashed” from 2010 with quality dropping, increased competition and Mark Bussler’s incompetence ultimately killing the channel.
