Before its introduction; The DSM-5 suffered from controversies for its changes to the definitions within the Autism Spectrum. In particular, the removal of Aspergers leading to a merger of the spectrum (with levels of severity used instead). The article in this goes into some issues that the article I was talking about was going into and I suggested people switching to ICD-10 (Though ICD-11 has gone the same way).
