Strange Apple TV Bundle (MJ9N3B/A)

Looking at an online deals forum yesterday, after originally ordering an Amazon Fire Stick 4K (cancelled the order soon afterwards) and found a company called “Stock Must Go” was offering brand new (sealed) Apple TV 4K 2nd Gen’s for £84.

However, eBay was also offering an extra 15% off voucher. Bringing that down to £71.40 (Only £2 more expensive than the Fire TV Stick 4K Max). Incredibly cheap, even if it’s the 2021 model.

However, there is one catch to that price. The unit comes with the remote for the first generation Apple TV 4K, instead of the 2nd gen one.

As you can see, the “MJ9N3B/A” is an Apple TV 4K 2nd Gen, but without a remote. Can’t find anything online (apart from information related to the listing by ‘Stock Must Go’) about, but the box is official, which means it exists.

Instead, a brand new (1st gen) remote and lighting cable were included in a plastic bag alongside the Apple TV itself within the parcel.

However, set up completed without issue, with Apple even showing a free trial offer to Apple TV+ for the device being a new purchase, even though Apple officially discontinued it over a year ago. The interface is fast, and I had no major issues setting up what I needed (not the experience many would have on the only £2 cheaper Fire Stick).

I streamed a 4k documentary without issue. Thrilled with the purchase :)
