2024: Week 8

This week started with a stressful start as the kitchen was closed down for refurbishments without management of the care home doing most of the preparation promised for how getting food or drinks was going to work.

It took until 5pm before anything was organized, even though management promised to me it would be sorted before the weekend.

But. At least, I had a drive out that day (B&M to buy a storage box, a drive around the villages and a meal out at McDonald’s).

The Wednesday trip to the “sensory garden” was pretty awful and poor weather meant that there were limited things to do the rest of the week. Feeling pretty sick of takeaways at this point.

I had a bunch of things planned that staff never turned up to within this week, including two bed room cleaning support and two indoor activities with staff, with the shift leader claiming it is up to me to make sure staff know when it’s time to do something that has been pre-planned. Something that no other service user is expected to do. Odd that many of the staff suddenly become lazy when dealing with me. 8 1/2 years of neglect under the presumption of “promoting independence”. Utter Fuckers (and people wonder why I made pretty much no progress is most areas since moving here).

I will more into that in a future blog post as I need to finish writing about this week.

The weekend was better. The staffing team actually turned up when they were meant to and I had my 2nd drive out on Saturday with Sunday just being a long walk with lunch at KFC.
